Mongol Invasion
Northern China, 1230
The Mongol invasion of China lasted over six decades and was not completed until 1279 Ad. Mongols preferred to fight in the winter because frozen soil was the best ground for fast movement. Every warrior carried a bow; an edged weapon; and the will to win. Chivalry and courtesy on the battlefield did not exist for them. The practice of ending the fight quickly from a distance with the least amount of Mongol casualties created the largest land empire the world has every seen.
