Clan MacLean
Fingal’s Cave, 1700
On the coast of Northern Ireland is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, which is all that remains of a legendary causeway that stretched from Ireland to Fingal’s Cave on the island of Staffa in Scotland. It was said to have been built by the Irish warrior Finn McCool to fight his Scottish counterpart Benandonner. Benandonner lost and fled from Finn, tearing up the causeway as he went, never to return to Ireland again.
