The two horsemen (British Scots Greys and French Red Lancer) are 54mm figures purchased from Airfix. The heavily modified kits were orginally released in the late 1970's, which makes them antiques in the figure modelling world. The kits are assembled and awaiting paint. The Foam and Bondo base is mounted on Canary wood.
Scotland Forever
Waterloo, 1815
Lady Butler's famous painting was based on the charge of the Scots Greys at Waterloo who went into battle shouting “Scotland for ever”. The charge captured the French Eagle standard of the 45th infantry regiment. The eagle is displayed in the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards museum in Edinburgh Castle today and the regiment wears this symbol on their cap badge.
