This is a diorama in 1/35th scale with figures from Tamiya, Dragon, Verlinden and a lot of pieces from the spare parts bin. The Ruin is from Miniart with pieces from Historix and Armand P. Bayardi and a loy of sculpted foam.

Nicknamed "Green Devils" by the Allied forces for their distinctive 3/4-length splinter pattern camouflage jackets and tenacious fighting skills, the 1st Fallschrimjager Division was assigned to defend Monte Cassino. Any Paratrooper who fought for two weeks in the town automatically received the Iron Cross. Overall, a total of 129 Knight's Crosses were awarded to men from this division during the war - twice as many as any other German division.
