This is a build in 1/35 scale with the vehicle and accessories from Academy, Verlinden, Dragon, Constructs, and Evergreen Plastics. The figures are modified from Hornet, and Verlinden. Thanks to the recent release of pictures of the Tiger Tank factory from the Bundesarchiv in Germany, I have been able to replicate a factory setting with some heavy scratch building using Evergreen Styrene and lots of spare parts. The groundwork is foam and Masonite mounted on a Wenge wood base.
A Tiger is Born
Germany, 1942
The city of Kassel was the manufacturing center for Tiger tanks and was bombed some 40 times by the Allies. Yet production continued until the end of WW2. The battle to capture Kassel on started April 1, 1945 while the Henschel factory completed work on the last 13 Tiger tanks produced which were handed directly over to two companies of schwere Panzer-Abteilung 510 and 511. Three days later at 1200 hours on April 4, 1945 the city was surrendered.
